Bucket List

K-Love inspired me to create a bucket list of things I'd really like to do with my children before they grow up.  As soon as I heard this I got right to thinking - there are SO many things that I've always wanted to see/do/experience with my 3 chickens.  I can assure you that my list will never be complete- its one that will continue to expand with the age of my children and the desires of their hearts.  But taking the time to reflect on these things is such a good idea and a visual list always helps me to accomplish such goals.

Many of these things are simple and free, some will require lots of planning and more money then I care to think about right now, while others will be spur of the moment experiences-but that's true to life.  Some are heartwarming moments, some are thought provoking activities, most are silly fun- but that's true to OUR life.   So here goes........this is what I have so far......


Travel

• Visit at least 2 other continents 
• Visit Niagara Falls
• Swim together in the Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific
• Visit 8+ National Parks
• Camp in Yellowstone
• Visit hole in the wall beach in Niantic CT
• Tour all the Smithsonians 
• Tour Washington DC-monuments and White House
• Visit Ellis Island and Lady Liberty
• Go up in the Arch in STL
• See a play on Broadway
• Take a train!
• Take a ferry to and spend the night on the Outer Banks, NC
• Visit Hershey Park, PA
• Visit Roloff Farm in Oregon and get pumpkins
• Visit the Coral Castle in Florida
• Visit Hannibal Missouri while reading/leaning about Mark Twain
• Ice skate at Crown Center

Nature

• Eggs- hatch- raise ducks (because they seem cleaner then chickens and I had ducks growing up)
• Catch fire flies in a jar
• Watch frog and butterfly life cycle in our home 
• Go mushroom hunting
• Learn to skip rocks
• Fishing
• Horse back riding at the beach
• Snorkel 
• Watch a meteor shower
• Dance and play in the rain
• Spend a week at a dude ranch doing cowboy things
• Plant a butterfly garden
• Chase a rainbow
• Watch the sunrise
• Catch snowflakes on our tongues 
• Make a snow fort and have a snowball battle

• Build a tree house
• Paint a mural in our home
• Camp in our tree house
• Make smores!
• Tire swing

Food

• Eat crabs in Maryland
• Eat pizza in Central Park, NYC
• Try all 31 flavors at Baskin Robbins
• Make our own noodles
• Make our own ice cream
• Pick our own pineapples in Hawaii 

Family

• Watch Daddy "jump" AIRBORNE
• Bury a family time capsule - dig up in 10 years
• Read all the Ramona books
• Learn another language
• Make a memory quilt 

Serve

• Serve as a family at a soup kitchen
• Adopt and love family for Christmas
• Foster a pet for a deployed soldier
• Become a pen pal to a deployed soldier and send care packages

Silly Fun

• Hang flowers on our neighbor's door to celebrate May Day
• Go on a mud slide
• BOO our neighborhood in October
• Mail out a Flat Stanley
• Carve our initials in a tree
• Host a block party
