We made a grand entrance into France this Columbus Day weekend! Team Haines took our first out of Germany trip- complete with trains, subways, shuttle buses, 4 chickens and the Grands:)
Friday morning started early- leaving the house before 6am for Ktown. We had a minor GPS glitch but found the train station and parking garage with ease. The chickens were dressed in mouse apparel but hadn't learned of our surprise destination. Arriving a few minutes before the train gave us time to explore and investigate- this was the first train ride for the chickens. We had a lesson in train safety and then a repeated lecture for those who weren't listening.

this was during the repeated lecture- train safety stinks! |
In less then 10 minutes we were rocking the rails and settled in our seats for the 2 1/2 hour trip. The girls did some coloring and school work to pass the time. Sam was entertained by Peter Pan (gotta love technology and iCloud).

I'm missing pictures of the next leg of our trip for a reason- little did we know that downtown Paris and a language barrier would leave us in a metro mess! Lost in translation we found our way on to a crowded subway bound for an unknown connection to yet another subway graffitied with spray paint. A good teachable moment for the chickens- who were completely shocked that some one would disrespect property in such a fashion- guess they forgot about doing the same thing a few short months ago to the bedroom door, and chair and floor-but never mind that! We arrived on the doorstep of Disneyland and the first Mickey sign was spotted by Annabelle-SURPRISE!!!!! We caught the shuttle to our hotel and upon arriving they found another surprise- Gigi and Grandpa were waiting for us in the lobby!
