~TROPICAL ISLAND~
So this place is pretty rocking! It's a haul up north-6 hours but worth it for a long weekend. We only stayed 2 nights and decided next time it'd have to be 3+ to make the drive worth while.
Its a huge place! There's a super fun lagoon area that we spent hours in the 2nd day (no pics of this tho)- it has a few slides, a lazy river, and waterfalls you can sit behind- its very relaxing! Then there's a giant pool that goes on forever- its all 5 ft deep and heated- families were playing water volleyball and chicken- great pool to just float and hang out. The far end of the hanger is devoted to the slides- all different kinds -for the big and small alike. Annabelle would have stayed there ALL day if we'd of let her! There was a toddler splash area and lots of sand- this is were we spent most of our time. The chickens played for hours in the sand- carrying buckets of water over to build castles and "bake cakes". I didn't realize that the sand was so appealing to them until this trip LOL. There are real rain forrest plants and animals that make the environment feel more like the outdoors- flamingos, fish, parrots, palm trees, and tropical flowers!
Our cabin was SO great! I highly recommend the Holiday Village! It's directly across the parking lot from the park and you have your own entrance. We weren't expecting it to be so big!

On the road 6 hours and the chickens did great! |

There it is! This place is a Zeppelin hanger from days gone by and is now the largest indoor water park in Europe |

We had a cabin right across the parking lot in the holiday village. These accommodations were fabulous! I don't have a single improvement or complaint- wonderful cabin!!!! |

Toddler splash area We spent most of the first evening here the water is at least 80 degrees- like the bath! Notice the fake sky LOL there was a hole in it in the big pool (feels very hunger gamesISH) |

Great food- very European- no sandwiches to take back to your chair- all restaurants with menu service or cafeteria style. The girls and I enjoyed baked potato, salad, and grilled chicken. Daddy got steak. The littles were perfectly satisfied with pasta. |
|
After our long day swimming we came back to our cabin and tried out the sauna:) |
|
Our cabin was so fantastic! 3 bedrooms (small) 2 beds in each and a sleeper sofa in the living room, we had a full kitchen and microwave, washer/dryer combo that we couldn't figure out how to operate LOL, shower, jacuzzi tub, sauna, TV and DVD player, wood burning stove, back deck with furniture. Like I said before- SUPER accommodations! |
|
we tried drying our suits in here and ended up locking them inside as the machine filled with water:/ we ended up wearing cold and wet swimming suits that morning- Germany fail! |
