Summer is Starting

We've been so busy the past few weeks- here are just a few of the things we have been up to!

421st Org Day

Think of it as a field day for the unit and families- there were sporting events, team activities and food and family fun!

Team Haines was well represented

Strawberry Time
We spent a schone morgan in Birkenfeld picking ERDBEER!

Our friends came too- Kinleigh, Leigh, Mimi and Payton

They tasted delicious and our 3 baskets were gone within 48 hours

GS Bridging

Annabelle is now a Brownie!  Thanks to our terrific troop and leader we had a very successful and full year as a Daisy scout.

Family Fun Times

Annabelle has made huge gains in reading the past month!

We All Scream For Ice Cream

A trip to the Baumholder ice cream parlor- with friends!

421st Change of Command
Summer is here and so is PCS season- saying goodbye to friends is never easy- but making new ones is very fun!
I spy my soldier!

First Grade Goodbyes

We were invited to Annabelle's classroom for an end of the year celebration!  The firsties sang a special song thanking our troops and we spent the last afternoon of the school year together!  Ice cream bar and friends- what more could you possibly need?

more ice cream at our FRG meeting

 Summer BBQ Bash

Neighbors and friends of Baumholder gathered at our building to celebrate the ending of the school year!  We had hot dogs, squirt guns, water balloons, popsicles and much more!!!  Great way to kick off summer!

Barefoot Park

Another 4 day weekend- Another adventure

GPS address
We drove about an hour north to a small rule village of Bad Sobernheim to the barefoot park.  It's exactly what it sounds like- take your shoes off and get your toes dirty kind of FUN!  It was a 2 mile loop around the park enjoying all the sensory your feet can handle!  Mud, stones, wood, grass, mulch, water………what's your pleasure?

shoes are off- here we go!

Callie hitched a ride

Annabelle and Mommy were brave enough
to make it all the way across the mud pool!
This is what we have come to love about Germany- they aren't afraid to slow down, unplug, get out, and get a little dirty! This was fun family time and so relaxing! Well worth the drive and the 11 euro to get in!!!

Along the path there were different balancing activities, bridges and obstacles- our chickens LOVED this!
Sam is leading us with the map!

free range/cage free chickens

She asked to take a silly pic with this weed- pretty typical really!
crazy hair, Kid!
toes in the water!

they have country in their blood!

Caroline asked to be put down so she could climb this bridge by herself - Miss Independent!

his pretty good at this for a 3 yr old- I had trouble lol

again, Caroline insisted in accomplishing this task alone!

seems a natural fit…..

Sam toes!

a cold water pool- good place to rinse off
Of course, my cell phone died so we don't have pictures of the playground towards the end- it was fun, lots more balancing and climbing structures and a slide.  Many German families were picnicking here- seemed like the thing to do.  After the playground you cross back over the river by a rope bridge or a ferry boat that you pull across yourself- our crew chose the rope bridge.  That concluded the loop and our adventure!  We grabbed our shoes and had a quick rinse of the toes- mission complete!  This is a must do again!!!!
